Frequently asked questions

What do the paid tiers include?
The core is free (MIT). Paid tiers unlock file-portal modules: Branded Share (expiring/password links) and Upload Portals (public “send us files”), plus Versioning, Webhooks, AI Vision/OCR and a compliance bundle at higher tiers.
How do I activate a license?
After purchase you get a license key. Set FLUXFILES_LICENSE_KEY in your environment and the paid modules unlock — verified offline (no phone-home), so it works air-gapped.
One-time or subscription?
Subscription: monthly for a low-commitment start, or annual to save (≈ 2 months free). We occasionally run a one-time lifetime deal as a limited promo — check pricing for current availability. An expired license keeps running the version you have; only updates/support pause.
What kind of support do I get?
Community support via GitHub issues is available to everyone on the free core. Paid modules include standard support; a separate Priority Support subscription gets you faster, prioritized responses on the free core or any module — it doesn't unlock any additional software.
Does it support audit logs, GDPR, or SSO?
Every mutating action is written to a tamper-evident audit log, free and on by default. The Enterprise Compliance bundle adds admin-controlled audit export/purge, DLP scanning, legal hold, and an OIDC SSO login bridge for teams with formal compliance requirements.
Is FluxFiles free and open source?
Yes — MIT licensed, free to self-host, and published on Composer and npm. The core has no usage limits; optional paid modules add extras like Share links and Upload Portals.
